It has been said that contemporary Western society has become intellectually and emotionally divorced from death. The Pike River disaster has brought society face to face with some difficult truths about worker safety, and forced us to confront what an event of this magnitude means in terms of loss to a community.
At the end of his life, Henri Matisse turned almost exclusively to cut-out paper as his medium. This publication is a retrospective of this period of his life, explored using technical and conceptual ideas inspired by Matisse’s cut-outs.

Fearful Harmony is an exploration of the relationship between designer and machine, speculating into the being of the latter as a means to delve into a different aesthetic and experience of our devices.
Terrifying archive footage shows mushroom clouds bursting into the skies above Nevada and the Pacific Ocean during the US nuclear weapons tests of the 1950s and 60s. A digital campaign to digitize many of these recently de-classified films.
Luke attended New Zealand’s Massey University’s College of Creative Arts, graduating in 2017 with Honours. Here he made his mark in the design industry, receiving multiple DINZ Best Awards and being featured in It’s Nice That’s yearly graduates.
Luke has worked on a variety of projects and rebrands within the cultural and corporate sector specialising in translating visual identities into motion and digital experiences. Notable projects include, Sydney Dance Company, Google Rare, Kaldor Public Art Project and Australia House.
